What is going on at the Frankenstein place? Everything! Should you investigate? (It'll be a short adventure if you don't – but an adventure nonetheless!)

This was my first Twine game! It's intentionally small as part of a series I'm working on to practice my narrative skills (and a little bit of pixel art), as well as for a secret other reason (a pending blog post will reveal all!).

I hope you enjoy it.

Software And Tools Used:

Changelog:
• Version 2.0 (27 June 2025): A long overdue update to the game that styles it better and allows it to fit more elegantly on screens; as well as an update of some of the text to make it slightly longer and more descriptive; and an update to the pixel art to fix beginner mistakes, such as jaggies, and just improve it overall (notably the art on the death screen). Absolutely nothing about the gameplay has changed however.
• Version 1.0 (9 February 2020): Launched what was my first Twine game as well as my first game made completely solo (I'd previously participated in game jams on teams).

Love it :) Really nice little game! I would love to see more like this. I also really like the mood / outline graphics - it suits the game really well.

Thank you! There is a next one, The Time Machine, and I am working on more. I hope you'll look out for them and play them!

I half expected a light burning in the fireplace. :-)

Well, you know, there's a lot of accidental fire in this game. Some of it probably would reach the fireplace....
